Chapter 8: she likes

Their car glided through the city streets, the hum of the engine blending with the soft whispers of Anirudh's subtle yet enchanting words. Vasudha, seated beside him, couldn't help but blush at the sweet compliments he showered on her.

With a twinkle in his eye, Anirudh continued to express his admiration for Vasudha, making the car ride an enchanting journey of sweet words and shared glances. Their hands found each other, fingers entwined, a silent promise of togetherness as Anirudh skillfully maneuvered through the traffic.

As they reached the renowned Fashion Designer Gayatri Shekhawat's office, Anirudh took out Vasudha's dream wedding folder. The one Vasudha gave him last night.

Anirudh: "Vasudha, Maine yeh folder kal raat dhyaan se dekha tha aur outfits dekh kar mujhe laga ki Gayatri Dadi will do a good job. She's Dadi's friend too. But agar aapko koi aur designer pasand hai toh tell me"

Vasudha, touched by Anirudh's genuine interest in making her dreams a reality, nodded with gratitude and said: "Nahi Nahi! Mrs. Shekhawat toh India ki best designer hai!"

Anirudh sighed in relief and got out of the car to open the door for Vasudha. As Anirudh and Vasudha entered Gayatri Shekhawat's studio, the air was filled with the vibrant energy of creativity. Anirudh, accustomed to calling Gayatri 'Dadi' out of affection, greeted her with the same warmth and respect that he would offer his grandmother.

Anirudh: "Dadi, kaisi hain aap?"

Gayatri, with a bright smile, replied, "Ani, my boy! Welcome home and congratulations beta shaadi ke liye! Nandu (nickname for Nandini) ka phone aaya tha!"

Anirudh, filled with gratitude, touched Gayatri's feet, seeking her blessings for this new phase in his life. Vasudha, observing the familial reverence, followed suit and touched Gayatri's feet as well.

Anirudh: "Dadi, meet Vasudha. Vasudha, Gayatri Dadi aur Dadi childhood friends hai. More like sisters!"

Gayatri, extending her arms, embraced Vasudha, "Beta, welcome to the family! Itni khushi hui tumse milke and you are gorgeous my girl! Ani and you are made for each other! Nandu ne toh bahut tareef ki thi tumhari. Ab shaadi ke outfits ke baare mein baat karte hain!"

Vasudha, feeling the warmth of Gayatri's welcome, smiled, "Thank you, Dadi. It's a pleasure to meet you too!"

Gayatri, with her experienced eyes, looked at the couple with affection, blessing them, "Bhagwan tum dono hamesha hamesha bahut hush rakhi. Ab chalo, let's create some magic for your special day!"

At the cue, Anirudh carefully handed over Vasudha's dream wedding folder to Gayatri, who eagerly received it with a smile. The folder, a treasure trove of Vasudha's aspirations, held the key to creating the perfect wedding ensemble.

Anirudh: "Dadi, iss folder me Sab kuch hai hamari wedding se related, outfits se lekar decorations tak. Aap outfits Wala section apne pass rash lijiyega wedding tak?"

Gayatri, flipping through the pages, admired the meticulous details that Vasudha had put together. While Vasudha's heart warmed at Anirudh's respect and consideration for her dreams & likings. Her eyes glistened at Anirudh's mention of how they both want whatever is inside the folder. It was as if Anirudh has decided that what Vasudha wants is what he wants.

Gayatri: "Anirudh, Vasudha this is exactly what I needed! Tum dono ne mere liye sab kuch easy kar diya hai. Don't worry mai sab isle according hi karungi!"

As they delved into the discussion, Gayatri's expertise in fabrics and embroidery became evident. She guided them through the intricacies of various fabrics, discussing the unique qualities of each.

Gayatri: "Dekho, Anirudh, yeh chanderi silk ka Kurta Vasudha ke mehendi outfit ko coordinate karne ke liye tum pehen sakte ho. Aur yeh georgette, sangeet ke function ke liye perfect hoga. Silk toh ek classic choice hai, hamesha timeless lagta hai par woh hum after wedding rituals ke liye rakhenge. Main wedding ke outfit ke liye give me time until end of today mai inn sabko dhyaan me rakh kar kuch unique banaungi!"

She explained the textures, detailing, and intricacies of each fabric, ensuring that Vasudha's outfits would not only be visually stunning but also comfortable to wear.

Gayatri: "Embroidery mein hum yeh zari ka kaam kar sakte hain, ya phir intricate thread work bhi ek option hai. What do you think, Vasudha?"

Anirudh, deeply invested in making sure that every detail aligns with Vasudha's preferences, continued to seek her opinion.

Anirudh: "Vasudha, yeh zari work pasand aaya? Aur yeh color combination kaisa lag raha hai?"

Vasudha, touched by Anirudh's attentiveness, replied with a shy smile, "Ji, bahut pasand aaya."

Anirudh, satisfied with her response, continued to involve her in every decision, ensuring that the outfits resonated with her dreams for the wedding.

Anirudh: "Aur yeh embroidery ka pattern? Kuch specific in mind hai ya main Gayatri Dadi se discuss karoon?"

Vasudha, thoroughly enjoying the collaborative process of selecting their wedding outfits, decided to add a personal touch to the designs.

Vasudha: "Umm, aapko theek lage toh hamare outfits par same embroidery kara sakte hai?"

Anirudh, with a smile, responded, "Of course, Vasudha, jaisa aap chahe!"

Vasudha, appreciating Anirudh's flexibility, added, "Aapki pasand bhi toh important hai."

Anirudh, looking into her eyes, expressed, "Meri pasand aap hai, Vasudha, aur aapki pasand meri favourite hai!"

Vasudha blushed uncontrollably at this sweet declaration. The warmth of Anirudh's words filled Vasudha's heart with an unknown feeling. Her gaze moved towards a green Kurta with pink flowers embroidered on it. She picked it up and asked Anirudh: "Aap Mehendi par yeh pehnenge?"

Anirudh nodded, appreciating her choice, "Ofcourse, Vasudha! This is beautiful a mix of our favourite colours! In fact aapka mehendi outfit bhi similar rakh sakte hai!"

Gayatri, with her expertise, began sketching out the design, ensuring it reflected Vasudha's style. The collaborative effort between Anirudh, Vasudha, and Gayatri continued, creating not just outfits but pieces of art infused with the essence of Vasudha's dreams and the love shared between the couple.

As Anirudh and Vasudha left Gayatri Shekhawat's studio, the next destination on their wedding planning journey was the decorator's office. Anirudh, always attentive to Vasudha's comfort, asked, "Ab ham chalein kya, Vasudha? Humhe decorator se bhi baat karni hai."

Gayatri smiled warmly and gave her blessings before they left: "Jao, mere bachon, Bhagwan tum dono ko hamesha khush rakhe!"

Anirudh and Vasudha, in a show of respect, touched Gayatri's feet before heading out.

In the car, as they journeyed towards the decorator's office, Anirudh took a moment to express something on his mind.

Anirudh: "Vasudha, I need to tell you something. Actually ghar mein sab chalet the ki wedding palace me ho. I'm sorry, maine aapse pucha nahi wedding venue ke baare me."

Vasudha, understanding his concern, replied with a reassuring smile, "Aap sorry kyu keh rahe hai! Aap toh sab meri pasand ka kar rahe hai! Bina mere kuch kahe. Infact I am grateful to each one of you."

Anirudh, wanting to make things right, insisted, "Nahi, Vasudha, yeh hamari shaadi hai, aur mai chahta hu ki sab aapki pasand ka ho. I am sorry ki wedding venue ko lekar aapki pasand main nahi puch paaya."

Vasudha: " Par mujhe venue pasand hai."

Anirudh, determined to make every decision together, "Nahi, Vasudha, yeh hamari shaadi hai, and I want it to be perfect for you. Honeymoon par kahan jaayenge woh aap hi decide karengi."

Vasudha blushed uncontrollably at this unexpected, sweet gesture, feeling a surge of warmth and happiness at Anirudh's thoughtfulness. The journey towards the decorator's office became more than just planning; it became a testament to their growing connection and understanding of each other's desires.

Anirudh, wanting to involve Vasudha in every decision, continued his thoughtful approach at the decorator's office. He asked her preferences about flowers, centerpieces, and every intricate detail. Touched by his consideration, Vasudha found herself overwhelmed with emotion.

As Anirudh continued discussing the wedding decor, Vasudha abruptly left the office and, once outside, her emotions overflowed, and she began to sob uncontrollably. Concerned and confused, Anirudh quickly followed her, finding her in a state of distress.

Anirudh: "Vasudha, aap ro kyu rahin hai? Maine kuch galat kaha ya kiya kya? Vasudha, meri taraf dekhiye naa. Vasudha, please mat roiye, meri Jaan jaa rahi hai."

However, Vasudha, unable to contain her emotions, continued to sob. Suddenly, she wrapped her arms around Anirudh's chest, seeking comfort in his embrace. Anirudh, now deeply concerned, tried to console her.

Anirudh: "Vasudha, bataiye na, aap kyu ro rahi hai. Please Vasudha"

Vasudha, still teary-eyed, finally spoke, "Aap bahut ache hai. Aap mera itna dhyan rakhte hain, meri pasand ko samajhte hain, mujhe aise pyaar se involve karte hain. I am not good enough for you! Mai aapko deserve nahi karti.. puri family ne bhi mujhe aise apna liya hai raise sab mujhe kitne time se jaante ho, sab kitna pyaar karte hai mujhse par mai yeh sab bilkul deserve nahi karti.. we shouldn't be together.."

Anirudh gently wipes away her tears, cups her face and says...
